My little guy just went and got his distemper booster and his rabies vaccine since he was too young when I got him. After he got the vaccine, I got a sheet stating the vaccine was given and a tag that looks like it goes on a collar. Does anyone know why they gave this tag to me? It says the rabies vaccine number on it, but I feel like a sheet of paper that I can easily find in my filing cabinet is a better reference for that type of thing. My cats are indoor-only and years of hearing two tags jingling together isn't worth it considering the only added benefit is someone who finds my cat, should he escape, will know he doesn't have rabies. I don't think I've ever seen an animal wearing their rabies tag, not even dogs which which have their rabies vaccines more highly controlled here in Chicago than cats do.
