I had one of by cats to the vet yesterday and she was diagnosed with a urinary infection. She's on antibiotics and has had two doses so far. She has not tried to use the litter box since being home, either to urinate or defecate. I can understand the urination reluctance since to hear her yowl when she came out of the box, she was obviously in pain. The vet also took a urine sample yesterday afternoon so she may not have much in there. My question is - is this normal and how long before it's not normal. Since today is Friday, I'm wondering if I should call the vet now. He's supposed to be calling me with the final results of the urinalysis today. Should I wait 'til I hear from him, or should I call right away.
Thanks,
Renee
P.S. There are days when I clean the box where there is not much in it. I also read somewhere about getting a new litter box since she might be afraid of this one. Should I try that before calling the vet? For once I hate that it's Friday
Thanks,
Renee
