When I heard it (out in public) I thought "oh NO, catchy equals will stay in my head today and possibly beyond"

who sings this anyway? it's not really my cup of tea but when something is catchy it can stay in my head

The lyrics are by Dobie Gray (1973?). I think it was both performed by the Doobie Brothers and Bruce Springsteen (?)
