I think that's a survival technique for working adults :lol3:. I hated coffee when I was younger, but turned to it in desperation once I started working, and now I'm hooked. My brother is the same way. It's an acquired taste and you only acquire it when necessary!
We had 2 metal shelves about 3 inches wide that ran the width of the table just under the surface. One day, my mother was on her hands and knees under the table and looked up. The metal shelves were piled high and overflowing with everything that us kids just couldn't eat. We lived in an old house and there was an open ventilation hole between the ceiling of the kitchen and the second floor. For those who were sent to bed with no supper, something would be sent up on a string at the first opportunity.
