Probably food. If I had to kill my own food I would freak out. Although in the 1400's I would probably be burned at the stake as soon as they realized I was left handed. I guess at that point hunger wouldn't be important. lol
If people had to kill their own food I think there would be a lot more vegetarians.

I would also have to say modern medicine. Mostly the prescription stuff. Also indoor plumbing and TP.

Most of the practicalities to the modern era such as medicine as others have mentioned. Then it would definitely be technology - I've lived for more years without smartphones than with one but I cannot imagine not having a smartphone. And so many things require Internet access nowadays I can't imagine not having that either.
