Hello hello! Pardon the delay, busy day the other day 😅

Happy first Tuesday of July! Even if belated

What movie death caught you completely off guard?

These are both almost about 20 years old now but *just* in case: Spoiler warning for The Mist and Serenity.

Wash from Serenity
Billy from The Mist

I'm sure I have other ones, but first that came to mind :)

Susan Plummer played by Melissa Leo in The Equalizer 2 - a trusted friend and co-worker of Robert McCall played by Denzel Washington

Shoot, I can't think of the name of the movie, but the person is Bruce Willis, and the famous line is "I See Dead People". I was totally shocked to learn that Bruce's character was dead! Does that count?
The Sixth Sense

And yes, that one was surprising

Spoiler alert!
Marley and Me - when Marley died 😢. It didn't catch me by surprise, but I cried like a baby.
Jojo Rabbit - I really liked the movie, but Jojo's mum's death was heartbreaking.

Don’t Look Now
Psycho
Also (if a book counts) Mrs. Ramsey in To the Lighthouse, which made me cry.

The Wind that Shakes the Barley.
Not so much that it happened, but how.

Don’t laugh…

Earl in Disney’s Princess & the Frog.

Ok laugh; but I love that movie. Who would make a little “hillbilly” Cajun firefly be so funny and endearing besides Disney? And then they have a little funeral?! It gets me.

There were two deaths in this movie and they both surprised me, but the movie is Simon Birch. One death that literally had me say what the F when the person died was the little girl in Gone with the Wind.
