I'm the middle child - one older brother (now deceased) and a younger sister. I always figured that was the best position, since parents may be overly cautious with their first child and tend to baby the youngest.

I'm the middle child (older sister, younger brother).
My parents are both middle children, too. Both had older brothers, my dad has a younger sister and my mom has a younger brother.
