A question about food preferences today

Are you vegetarian, non-vegetarian or vegan ? :D

I'm also non-vegetarian. I have not eaten exotic meats like kangaroo & ostrich (exotic for this part of the world) & don't eat shellfish. I do eat meat from animals I find cute, like lamb & pig. I don't like eating meat or fish that have bones in them. I guess I don't like being reminded that I'm consuming something that used to be alive.

I'm an omnivore. I don't eat red meat because of my gall stone, but I like it. Also fish and bird.
I will also never turn down a good salad.

I'm an omnivore, although we cut back to red meat once a week or less. There's not much I don't eat...

I'm non-vegetarian. I attempted to go vegetarian when I was a kid.

It didn't last long

I've tried vegetarian, and it was too much work.

I don't like shell fish very much, and I have to avoid milk and carbs for health reasons, but otherwise I eat just about anything.

Omnivore. I go back and forth between omnivore and vegetarian. When I am eating meat I don't eat a lot of it, maybe 4 or 5 times a week, that's meals per week that include meat. I have never tried to do the vegan thing. Vegetarian isn't really hard for me to do since I don't eat a lot of meat but for some reason I can't stick with it for more than a few months. I always crave something that doesn't fit with vegetarian and give in.

I consider myself an omnivore, but I rarely eat meat other than fish - basically I leave myself the option if it's being served, but I don't usually prepare it at home.

I'm pretty sure even vegetarians are considered omnivores from a scientific perspective. All humans are. Some just choose not to eat meat.

Anyways, I personally don't think I'll ever be a vegetarian--I love cheese, milk, eggs, fish and chicken. But I love fruits and veggies.

Vegetarians also eat cheese, milk and eggs. However, vegans do not. As a vegetarian I personally try to avoid dairy but that's a personal choice.

lacto-ovo vegetarian: eats no meat, but will eat dairy products (milk, butter, cheese) and eggs. ovo-vegetarian: eats eggs, but no meat or dairy products.

Unless I'm mistaken, and I very well may be, that's the difference between vegetarian and vegan.
A vegetarian will consume animal products such as milk, cheese, eggs, mayo etc..
where a vegan will only eat fruits and vegetables. I'm not sure about nuts.

Milk, cheese and eggs are considered part of some vegetarian diets although one could say they are animal by-products. Some vegetarians eliminate dairy from their diet and substitute almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, rice milk. etc. Legumes and nuts are included in both vegetarian and vegan diets.

I'm an omnivore with very, very heavy leanings toward being a carnivore, and almost bloody if it's beef. There's not much I haven't tried and most of it I like. I don't care if it flies, grazes, or swims. I'll eat it.

Does anyone remember Jimmy Buffet's "Cheeseburger in Paradise"?

"Cheeseburger In Paradise"

Tried to amend my carnivorous habits.
Made it nearly seventy days,
Losin' weight without speed,
Eatin' sunflower seeds,
Drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays.

But at night I'd have these wonderful dreams
Some kind of sensuous treat.
Not zucchini, fettuccini, or bulgur wheat,
But a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat.

Cheeseburger in paradise.
Heaven on earth with an onion slice.
Not too particular, not too precise.
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise.

Heard about the old-time sailor men,
They eat the same thing again and again;
"Warm beer and bread," they say, "could raise the dead."
Well, it reminds me of the menu at a Holiday Inn.

But times have changed for sailors these days.
When I'm in port I get what I need;
Not just Havanas or bananas, or daiquiris,
But that American creation on which I feed!

Cheeseburger in paradise
Medium rare with mustard'd be nice
Heaven on Earth with an onion slice
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise.

I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and French fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draught beer
Well, good god almighty, which way do I steer...

...for my cheeseburger in paradise?
Makin' the best of every virtue and vice.
Worth every damn bit of sacrifice
To get a cheeseburger in paradise.
To be a cheeseburger in paradise.
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise.

I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and French fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draught beer
Well, good god almighty, which way do I steer?

I'm a vegetarian. My whole family are vegetarian so I've been one since (before) I was born. I'm not a vegan, but I'm not too keen on dairy products so I go for soy milk rather than cow juice.

I live with one very enthusiastic carnivorous husband who will eat anything, the weirder the better, and 22 cats who like to crunch up mice in front of me.

:cringe:
