I considered adding house coat, but decided a robe has a hood, and generally a house coat doesn't. Not French, btw.

Originally from England, living in London, Yorkshire and West Midlands where everyday items seemed to have very different names just to confuse us all. Now living in Germany where we call them: Bademantel, Brötchen, Haargummi und Schleckdrinks (at least in my area!!!)
