Have you ever been to a Halloween Fancy Dress party? What did you go as? If you were going to dress up tonight what would your costume be?

I used to go to lots of Halloween parties when I was a student. Then, when I first started working as a teacher, we used to hold Fancy Dress parties for the kids every year. I usually went as a vampire, or sometimes as a vampire victim. You got to have fun with the fake bite marks and corpse make-up as the victim. One year I went as Medusa and wove lots of toy rubber snakes into my hair. That took a lot of work, I don't think I'd bother doing that again.

How about you?

I guess you could say I hosted a fancy dress Halloween party 11 years ago. My wedding. My husband and I went as a medieval couple. A few years ago, we went to a Halloween party as Dionysus and Ariadne, he carried a bottle of wine and I carried a ball of string. I'm not in costume today as we're going to Broadway tonight for our anniversary. I dressed as Tigger on Friday for my school's party.

I've been to many Halloween/costume parties. I've been so many things...a dead bride, vampire, witch, gipsy, Marilyn Monroe, cat...and a few more I'm sure.
If I were to dress up tonight, I would go as "Pajama Lady"...I'm not in the mood for dressing up today LOL...although I do have Halloween themed PJs.
I often dress up for work as well when Halloween lands on a weekday, and my next costume idea for work is "Crazy Cat Lady". I'd wear my regular athletic attire, but over top, to greet my clients, I would wear my robe and attach all of my old kitty stuffed animals to it and put my hair up in rollers or some "old lady" hairstyle. Dressing up for work is fun, but I have to make sure I wear a costume I can still work in.

I don't think I've been to a fancy dress up party, but I've dressed up plenty of times as a teacher. I did go to one non fancy party as a genie, I think in my early 20s.

I'm not sure what I'll wear today. Maybe my renaissance dress, or maybe my butterfly wings. I also have a flapper dress my mom made for Halloween in high school that still fits, but I can't find the wig and it's not warm enough to go around the block in it.

I wore my cat ears/tail to stroller strides yesterday, but had the worst time getting my make up whiskers off while J was climbing on top of the toilet 🤦‍♀️. So I don't think I'll do that two days in a row.

Never been to one! (Hopefully someday though) if I were to go to one nowadays probably bring out my Tudor or Rococo dress, get all decked out in my historical costuming.

Or do something fun with makeup, every year I do an extravagantly creepy look and affects with my cosmetics - Creepy doll, decapitated head, dead bride, terrifying monster etc etc Thanks to 6 years of experience of being in the beauty industry!

I've only been to non fancy ones, just friends hanging out and having some fun with costumes. I have my costume for next party ready, although I have no idea when it'll be😅 I want to go as a saloon lady, like the ones you see in cowboy movies. I don't have a good hoop skirt, but I have some pieces of clothing that worked really well when I tried it. It was far from accurate, but fun and recognisable enough. Now I just have to wait on an invite 😂

One year my husband and I were invited to a costume party. He didn't want to have to shave off his mustache so he went as Edgar Allan Poe and I went as The Raven, (Nevermore). :lol2:

I have no idea what a fancy dress Halloween party is. I think I would love to dress up as Madeline Kahn as Mrs. White in the movie Clue including flames on the side of my face.

I never have been, but I always thought I'd like to go as a hippie if I could find authentic clothes not the stuff they sell at the stores.

I've never been to one; however I would wear my old sailor uniform, if I hadn't given it away years ago.

Its been ages since ive been to any kind of fancy party. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a fancy costume party either. I think the last time I dressed up was in high school. My Latin teacher would give extra credit if you dressed up as a Roman. (Preferrably not just a toga. You were supposed to show knowledge of actual Roman clothing! ) My mom found a second hand dress in about the right cut. Over the years of school we altered the sleeves and made different parts that they wore. I even found similar buttons. When I was in college my old teacher mailed several pictures to my parents house. That was fun to see again!
