In honor of Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, today's question is:
Did you, or anyone in your family, serve in the military? If so, when and where?
My dad was in the Navy in the late 50's and served on the USS Gwinn and the USS Tallahatchie County. He worked in the boiler room and always joked that he had been in NY harbor 6 times and never saw the Statue of Liberty. My husband was in the Navy as well from 1989-1994. He served on the USS Flying Fish, a submarine based out of Norfolk, and was a fire control technician (basically, he was the one that launched the torpedoes). I have so much respect for the military and their members and I want to thank all servicemen and their families for their sacrifices.
