I was starting to think I was the only one in the world who did not have a debit card.

Because I do most of my shopping on line I pay for most things with my credit card. I also use my credit card for groceries and gas.

When I was working I always had some cash on hand to buy lunch and coffee.

It's always been easier this way. I try to stay on budget and always pay in full every month when the bill comes. I pay the bills on line.

Just last week I had a conversation with my brother about debit cards. He helps out our elderly Mother with her banking. He had her give up her debit card.

His reasoning was this. Mother very seldom goes out and if lost it could be days or weeks before she noticed it was missing. And because a debit card is as easy to use as a credit card someone could run up a heck of a bill in that time.

If I have cash, then I use it. If not, then I use my debit card. The only time I use my credit card is when traveling, to book flights, hotels and the like.
