Happy Weekend!

I've turned into a walking medicine cabinet. In addition to prescription drugs, I'm taking a small ton of supplements for whatever is going on in my body. Between probiotics, a multivitamin, B2 vitamin, Vit D, calcium, it's gotten ridiculous.

Do you take supplements or are you one of the lucky ones who don't have to take them?

Yup,. a ton of supplements: Daily Centrum, Vitamin D, Biotin, Probiotic, lately Magnesium, and supposed to take Calcium, but I keep forgetting... In addition to all the meds, which are for various things.. I feel like a walking drug store. My cabinet is a drug store..

I'm supposed to take iron...but fail to be consistent. I probobly should be taking a vitamin B complex, D and omegas, as most people, even if not "deficient" are probably lower than optimal. And I know I would benefit from taking magnesium...but again, I'm not consistent.

It's yet another one of my "plans" to get my life in order and create a routine I can stick to.......procrastination is strong with this one... :paperbag:

I take a multivitamin and calcium. During the pandemic I started taking one of those powders that are dissolved in water for the immune system, it contains Vitamin D3, Vitamin C, Zinc and some of the B vitamins. I have continued taking that.

I take a prenatal vitamin because they're still good for breastfeeding, and sunflower lecithin to help keep me from getting clogged milk ducts.

I probably should be taking vitamin d. I always seem to be low.

Every day I take a one-a-day multivitamin, B complex (helps with carpal tunnel syndrome), vitamin D, and something else - I think it is calcium, magnesium, zinc all in one pill. They're lined up in the wall cabinet above my vanity so practically stare me in the face when I open it to get my toothbrush in the morning.

I only take a women's daily vegan vitamin and fortunately when I get my annual physical my labs are good. I also try to eat healthy with the exception of my caffeine habit. I do, however, take allergy meds because I couldn't live without my animals.

I have a bunch, all doctor suggested or approved . They actually end up costing me more per month than my prescription meds. Alpha Lipoic Acid, to prevent diabetic nerve damage. CoQ-10, for my heart health and to counter effects of Metformin. Maccushield, an Lutien eye vitamin to help stave off macular degeneration. A Centrum Silver multi vitamin and lastly a Magnesium tablet to help with sleep. I have been on all of these daily except the Maccushield for the last twenty years.

I only take my thyroid pill - which I keep putting off getting re-checked.
I do take cranberry (for my kidneys) and biotin when I remember. Which is not often.

The only one I take is calcium/Vitamin D combo. I was low on both and when I had a bone scan done my doctors all recommended I bulk up on the calcium especially. Don't want to risk a broken hip as I age! Vitamin D was low because I rarely hang out in the sun I guess so now I make a point to get 10 minutes soaking up the sun several times a week. My last blood test showed an increase so I guess that's working.

I take vitamin D supplements in winter and supplements to help bladder control all year round. Sometimes when I go through an anaemic spell I also take iron supplements.

I will take melatonin if I'm having trouble sleeping and then of course I take vitamin D because you basically can't obtain a Minnesota driver's license without taking it (kidding of course).

I try to keep supplements to a minimum. I have my multivitamin, a hair/skin/nails one, vit D, a probiotic and fish oil. That’s more than id like already.

DH’s parents are both big on them and Isometimes it feels too much. Like there’s always something better or different to try. DH consults with an herbalist/Eastern medicine specialist to try to make sure he’s using the right things; but it can quickly get expensive! I’ve been tempted because I know it really dies help some people; but still.
