Sorry, I almost forgot to post this week's question.

:paperbag:

Are you forgetful? What kinds of things do you forget? How do you help yourself remember things?

I'm not particularly forgetful, but as I work several different jobs from home and my schedules often overlap I have trouble keeping track of what I'm supposed to be doing and when. The only way I can stay organised is to have a desk calendar with everything I need to do written on it and alarms on my phone set to go off 15 minutes before I'm supposed to call someone. I try not to look at what's happening more than two days ahead either, otherwise I just confuse myself even more.

:runaround:

The only other thing I forget is to take my vitamins. I have a jar of them right next to the kettle, but I hardly ever take them.

What about you?

I am forgetful about some things so I always have a list going and I use sticky notes often.

I use sticky notes all the time! I can be forgetful, but I always remember later, so that makes me feel better. Daily routines are easy it's the things that don't take place very often like appointments, anniversaries, etc. that I tend to forget. At the beginning of the year I fill out the whole year with all my birthdays, important dates, etc. it really helps, IF I remember to look at the calendar!

I've been very forgetful lately...all stress related.:gaah: Although, not about really important things, like giving my cats their meds, it's more going back to check I locked the door or walking into a room and standing there like, what was I doing? I know a lot of people do this, but it is a multiple times a day occurrence lately. Things are settling down, so I hope my brain catches up soon.

I am a big advocate of list making and calendar reminders. At work I'd be lost without those reminders popping up at me throughout the day. At home, I send myself email reminders as soon as something pops in my head that needs to be done because I'm constantly reading my email throughout the day.

I have been absent-minded and forgetful as long as I can remember. I guess it's caused by thinking too much and by insomnia. It's often frustrating, but I have finally accepted it as a part of my personality.
People who are close to me (family, friends, co-workers) know that I'm forgetful and they take it into account when they expect something from me.
Making lists or using sticky notes doesn't help, because I forget to have a look at these too.

I am not very forgetful but I do have a lot going on. So I use an app based daily diary, calendar and to do list and also carry a note pad in my purse.

Being on a schedule helps. I drink water and take vitamins at the same time every day. I also make lists or save things in my favorites on my computer.

I'm the most forgetful if I go to the grocery store without a list. Then I get mad at myself when I come home and realize I forgot something important.

The things I usually forget the most are things I want to look up online when I get home. I have a lot of questions that pop in my head while I'm driving and since I'm very against using my phone while driving, I try to remember to look up my question later, but I nearly always forget. If it's something important I might pull out a pen and write it down since I can write while not taking my eyes off the road.

I keep lists for some things. When I worked outside my home documenting everything was really important in my line of work. So it got me in the habit of writing things down. I don't do that AS much at home; but it still helps. I like keeping appointments in my phone. But mostly I like things written and posted where I can see them. This has definitely been harder since I had kids and then again since we started homeschooling. :runaround:

The one thing I need to be more diligent on is the reminder for my Vitamin D. I only take it once a week and I have a reminder on my phone; but it's easy to get busy and forget even after that. I need to just need to stop whatever I'm doing and take it instead of saying "in a minute." :agree:
