I prefer bathtubs, but I shower in the morning (to "wake up"--I don't need that morning cup of coffee to wake up; I need a bath/shower), and take a bubble-bath before bed (yes, I know that you're wondering what I do in bed overnight that gets me so dirty!
). I have always had lower back problems and sciatica; and suffer from insomnia. I find that a soak in a hot bath helps both. If I go more than 2-3 days without a soak, I feel it in my lower back.
I admit it, I have always enjoyed bathing. I'm lucky to have my own bathroom, so I have decorated sort of girly in style--more luxe than frilly. I even have a half-round metal scroll-work table under the window, beside the tub, so I can stack my books, etc. there while in the tub, and I also have one of those bridge things that goes across the tub, so you can read a book while bathing! I even thought about putting a tiny TV in there...maybe that's going TOO far?
