Good morning!
And Happy Friday!
It's been a long week and I'm ready for 4:00.
Easy question this morning: Windchimes? Yes or No?
I'm saying no. Many years ago, I was working third shift, so I was sleeping during the day.....or trying to. Our neighbors had just bought this huge pair of windchimes (and I use that term loosely). Those puppies were gigantic and the sounds they made were more like a deep bass than a tinkle in the wind. I had the windows open and every time the breeze blew, all you heard was BOOM, BOOM! Finally, around 11 or so, I got out of bed, walked over to the neighbor's porch and took the windchimes down. I put them on the lawn chair and walked away. Came home and crashed.
Later on that night, I walked back over and told the neighbors what I had done. She wasn't angry at all; she said she figured it was me and she wasn't sure what shift I was working that week, but she said she hesitated to put the chimes out. After I finished my third shift week, I gave her a call and said, "OK! You can put your chimes out now! I'm done til next month!" And I took over some cookies as a peace offering.
I don't mind the little tinkly ones. But boy, those big ones are loud. Especially when you're trying to sleep during the day.
