Unless you are courting her.

That's because we are.

And just for the record - I no longer think of you as a tough guy.

It's just that chocolate, like red roses, are typically associated with romance. Sometimes it's best not to have that ambiguity thrown into a friendship. That's all I meant.

I just have to mention -- a gentleman actually DID send me snow once, from Indiana! He put it in a Thermos packed into a cooler full of dry ice inside a box full of styrofoam, and he shipped it overnight... and it was still snow when it got here!

I made a cranberry-juice slush with some of it and sprinkled the rest over my head... my own private snowstorm.

That was courtship, though. No guy would go to so much effort for a mere pal.

ah but you do know tears come for all reasons? Happiness, appreciation, kind of a "wow" that is mixed with sadness of it's being a bad time but wow this kind gesture suddenly happens...

I would bet anything there was a smile within those tears.

Me, too, Bruce. When a woman tells you it made her cry, she's often saying you touched her deeply, and she appreciates your gesture very much, even though there are no words to express how she feels. I think you did good!
