I have raised cats all my life and know alot but my 6 yr old is acting strange.
A few days ago I replaced one of the cat dishes with a new one,we had the other one for 7 yrs and it was cracked.
Now my 6 yr old who ate out of it regularly is acting weird. She acts like she has lost her best friend, she's lathargic, and not playing like she was before.
I thought maybe it was the heat but she is drinking.
I have lost one cat to kidney failure and that is my main fear.
But what I am wondering is,by getting rid of the dish, could it have truamatized her? She sniffs at the new dish cause I have it in the same place, drinks a little and walks away.
I can't lose another cat.
I will be taking her to the vet if she doesn't start acting normal soon, but am terrified of what they will say.
