Would there be a problem giving a cat liquid Amoxicillin meant for a human (from a human pharmacy) rather than using a veterinary formula? I was mainly concerned with the fruit flavoring that's added to the human formulas. Apparently they come that way and the pharmacist has no control over it. Would those be bad for cats?
The vet thought it was odd that my cat had some vomiting and diarrhea after taking the human formula. But the cat didn't have any problems taking Penicillin when he was a kitten. The only thing I can think of that would contribute or cause vomiting and diarrhea is that I mixed the (liquid) Amoxicillin in with canned cat food. The Penicillin was tablets for humans.
