Hi,

I have one question, would like to know if the discharge had smell. I have a pregnant cat, but from the 4th-fifth week of her pregnancy she started to have some creamy discharges (no-odor). I took her to the vet, the vet told me that she has one baby in her stomach (no x-ray, by exam). she guessed that the baby maybe is dead, that's why she's having the discharge and asked me to go home to see if she can give birth. the vet also took the blood test and everything was fine with the blood test. Well, three weeks passed by now. she's doing completely fine, eats, plays, drinks, and her stomach is swollen. she still has discharges and the color changed to some sort of creamy-pinkish (still no-odor).  I am not sure if these discharges are normal during the pregnancy or if it is pyometra. Well, vet asked me to give her antibiotics, and  she was sure there is a baby in her stomach. She shows no sign of pain or anything. So would you please let me know if the pyometra discharge in the case of your cat had a foul odor.

Thanks

If you are stil worried about your cat you need to see your vet.

The best way to avoid a cat getting  pyometra is to have her spayed.  If she is spayed before the first time she calls it gives the maximum protection against breast cancer as well - ever call slightly increases the chance of her getting it.

I am planning to spay her, but if she has a kitten inside, I prefer wait till she gives birth and then spay her. this way surgery will be easier on her. Anyhow, my question was that pyometra comes with the discharge with foul odor? or it may happen with discharges with no odor?
