I feed my cats purina chicken and rice, and purina sensitive system. Originally, I got the sensitive because Fang was having soft stool problems, but that is ok now, and I discovered the other two like it too, wo we have it for diversity. I would like to feed a higher quality food, but this is it for my budget. The first ingredient is chicken, there are no bi-products, and the cats like it, so that is what we will eat for now. I also feed science diet turkey, which has no biproduct. Now I know that purina one has wheat gluten, but it is not the contaminated wheat gluten, and it is not on the recall list. I know that science diet is made at Menu, and some of the science diet in gravy was recalled, but the one I use is not.
I understand that we are all hyper vigilant now about our cat's food, but there is a limit to what one can do. I cannot afford the most expensive, plus they turned their nose up at triumph, and I am not going to do all raw and wet. So I have to trust that the food companies will get their stuff in order, and I am grateful that I didn't use recalled foods.
Another food I use is Trader Joe's but they are doing a voluntary recall until they test their food which is made by menu. I could tell them they were fine, because I had some, but now it is all used and I can't get anymore. If my guys get sick of the science diet, we are going to be in trouble.
