We got 2 (brother) kittens about 2 weeks ago. They're about 16 weeks now. One of our adult cats didn't like them so much at first, but the Feliway seemed to make a huuuge difference with that, and they now seem to fit in just fine. One of the kittens has been puking like crazy though. He didn't throw up at all that I know of for the first several days when we had them locked in the bathroom. I was giving them both wet food and dry food (the same kind they were feeding at the shelter to help transition). But now that they're out and about with the adult cats, poor Clarkson is always throwing up. I suspect that he may be eating too fast. If they don't finish all their food, our adult cat Mike acts as the garbage disposal and walks around and eats up everyone else's food. So I think Clarkson may naturally be a grazer - eating a little here and a little there - but since he knows Mike will eat his food, he's forced to just stuff it all down at once or else risk having Mike at it all. And that's causing him to get sick. At least that's my theory. He could just be rejecting this particular food or have an allergy, but I don't really know how to tell. He pretty much throws up very shortly after he eats. I actually thought he had *stopped* puking until today I heard him crying in the litter box and went over to see what was going on annnd...he puked his guts up right in the litter box. Very convenient, I might add, however if he's doing that, I have no idea how often/how much he's doing it since it's pretty difficult to tell the difference between pee and his watery puke in the litter. Any ideas here? Is it a problem if he eats adult cat food? The cats are constantly going from one plate to another I can never tell how much actual kitten food he gets versus cat food.
Allllso...One of the kittens (not the puking one) has developed acne along with one of my adult cats. Do you think that's all stress related? And how do I make it go away? Do I need vet care for that or is that something I can take care of on my own?
