I am just stunned at how well our cats are accepting our new puppy. Muddy and Koko were orphaned at 10 days old, have never met a dog in their lives, yet at 8-1/2 months old, have had a puppy of all things brought into their lives.
Muddy is absolutely the trusting fellow, and I find his behavior towards the puppy as proof that he will trust anything that we throw at him. He and Koko cuddle up in our laps when we sit on the floor with Samson, and tolerate a lot of his jump-on-your back behavior that is so common in puppies. Koko brings her toys into the kitchen to play, and when Sam takes them from her, she just tries to steal them back and in the process, they get into a round of play.
Muddy crawled into Sam's "bed" to sleep yesterday afternoon, and when Sam crawled in afterwards to take his nap, Muddy just stayed there and took a nap with him. He spends most of his day in the same room as Sam, usually sleeping on a chair or on top of his kennel.
Anyway, I thought this was just too cute to pass up:
