I saw this advertised in my homeowners association newsletter this week, so I thought I would check it out.
A couple of people who live semi-locally have started a yahoo group called Free-2-U Recycle. You join the group and post about things you have that you are willing to give away....one man's junk is another man's treasure, so to speak.
I posted about some stone garden edging I have had stacked up in my garage for 2 years. I removed it from my yard and have no use for it. I have been stuck with it, as the garbage men won't take it. Within 2 hours, I had a response. The lady gave me her cell #, I called, and she came to pick it up! I had another person email me to say she wanted it too! In a couple of hours' time, I was rid of something that was taking up space in my garage, and the lady was thrilled to get it for free!
I just think this is the greatest idea. It's a super way to recycle.
