Nancy Reagan looked very frail; her kids looked much the same way they did 15 or 20 years ago, but seemed much more supportive of her and closer to her than back then. Oddly enough, I haven't seen any mention of Chirac not attending on the European news. Perhaps because he had no connection to Reagan? It was D'Estaing and Mitterand (I think I just misspelled that!) in those days. Before people get all "het up" about his failure to attend the ceremony - today is a really big day here in Europe, with elections to the European Parliament, and with the addition of new countries and a lack of public support for a European constitution, he may have felt that it was more important to campaign for a "united Europe", as the entire movement has really been powered by France. I think it best to remain realistic/pragmatic, instead of engaging in bashing France. Look at the local election results in Britain - I'm sure Chirac did.
