Pregnant Princess Mononoke

Princess Mononoke, "Mokie", is atleast 1 month Pregnant. She just had her 2nd birthday. This is her very first litter. This is also my 1st litter.. Not too sure what to do. How or what to get together or ready.. Any advice welcome.

You'll need to get a nestbox ready. It doesn't have to be anything fancy- a cardboard box with a blanket works, or even just a closet. Make sure it's in a warm, semi-dark space. A heating pad set on low helps keep kitties warm- put it under the blanket, but make sure there is a good amount of nesting space that the heating pad isn't under.
You will also need a good quality kitten food for mama during pregnancy or nursing. A good quality all-stages food also helps. Feeding one chicken heart and one chicken liver a day can add extra nutrients as well.
You will need a needle-less syringe and kitten milk replacement in case any of the kittens need supplementation, and a small scale to weigh the kitties on to make sure they are thriving.
And you should start an emergency fund in case something goes wrong.
For litter training, you are going to need a low lipped litter box that the kittens can get in and out of easily.

One of the most important things are weighing the kittens every single day at the same time of day. If a kitten doesn’t gain weight for even one day or loses weight, you will need to start supplementing immediately with KMR or goats milk (I use 1 part kmr 3 parts goats milk) using a syringe. Taking action early is what saves kittens. A kitten should gain 7-10 grams a day.

The second most important thing is warmth. A heating pad on low setting, a heated sock filled with rice, or a snugglesafe disk will do the trick.
