Hi Everyone

I’m new to this site so hello!

I’m just looking on some advice,

I have a British shorthair cat, she was pregnant when we got her but we didn’t know, I took her to a lady for a private scan who said her due date was the 10th October it’s now the 21st and still nothing so I took her to our vets today. He wasn’t very helpful but just said she had very large kittens.

She hasn’t shown any signs of labour only when we was at the vets she was panting with her mouth open.

She has milk as the vet checked and has just started scratching my pillow and I wasn’t sure if this was nesting, she lies down for a bit and then moved to another spot and rests there.

She has only just started licking.

Any help or advice would be great

Its difficult to assess the delivery time by just an examination.

Panting at the vet was probably sheer stress.

Otherwise she is apparently nearing.

Has she dropped yet? Ie suddenly seems less obvious?

If so its near!

She does seem smaller than what she was - she looks thinner if you look down on her.

I guess it’s just a waiting game. I haven’t done this before and a few days ago I inspected her and found some browny colour discharge with I mistakenly thought it was her mucus plug but the vet has today given her some antibiotics as he thinks it was an infection!

Thank you for your reply
