Recently found a stray cat and her kittens in the garden whom are around 4-5 weeks old. We have got them inside so they are warm and comfortable however I’m beginning to think mom cat may be pregnant again already? Will the first set of kittens tolerate the new ones? And also how should I prepare for the birth of she is pregnant? Never owned a pregnant cat before so all advice welcome. Thanks!

They can get preg anew a week after delivery. Cats arent protected by nursing.

But her pregnancy should be barely visible yet.

If she is high preg the kittens prob older than it seems.

OR she had two different litter simultaneusly. Rare but happens.

Feed mom cat wet kitten food as long as she is nursing/ or when current litter is weaned, you determine she is regnant with a second litter, continue the kitten food. Also, if you can find it, get the powdered form of Kitten Milk Replacement and give her a saucer or two per day, as long as she is pregnant or nursing kittens.

Thank you for rescuing mom cat and the kittens. You might take her to a vet for a checkup, pregnancy check, and maybe deworming. Same for the kittens.

If her kittens are 4-5 weeks old she could be 3 -4 weeks pregnant
She has atleast 5 or 6 weeks left so the kittens will be old enough to be taken off of moms milk by the time she has the next litter, and placed on cat food instead. Hope this helps :D congratulations on the kittens
