They might have not sure the exact name but cat herpes , my cat has it but she is not having breathing problems instead she is having a overly wet eye and is leaking out liquids from it but I read that some cats have trouble breathing and I also found out its due to lack of a certain vitamin that cats bodies don't make and is enduced with stress etc . Try giving small amounts of l-lysine to your cats I give 250 Milagrams a day but first ask your vet , but if they say yes don't buy anything from a vet itl cost a lot just go to a cvs or something and get 500milagram l-lysine and get a cheap brand it's just a vitamin not a medicine dont let the vet try to make you spend more than you have to
