Oh that's awful! It's so terrible when you think you can depend on the doctors and LCs and they screw up... I know mine didn't do anything that bad, but there were little things... Like, well, they gave me NO discharge instructions for me!Originally Posted by sillyitiliangrl
The cause was the lactation department not doing their jobs and the nicu not realizing they hadn't spoken to me, and her peditrtion ignoring thigs she shouldn't have (we've switched)
Esintally, we were using a nipple shield to get her breast feeding, and they told me I could stop pumping, but because of the shield, i wasn't getting enough stimulation and my milk supply got severly depleted so she wasn't getting enough nutrtion. On top of that the weatehr went from 80s to 50s here while she was home and my house may have gotten a little too cold for her :'( exasperating the problem. So, bascially she was dehydrated.... i feel horrible about it, but I was doing as I was medically advised, and it was my persistance that got her the help she needed
Yay for Lexi being home!!! What a great day- a baby shower and a baby home coming!!Originally Posted by sillyitiliangrl

It was a crazy day, ran milk down to her at the hosptial this morning (a 30-45min drive each way) came home, had a wonderful baby shower, went back to the hospital to get Lexi and bring her home, then taking care of her while getting everything orgainized! Totally insane, I'm exausted, but it was all worth it!
