I have been exposed to many euthanizations lately. Many of the clients that have been going to the vet's office I use have had to put down animals lately, and many posters have been sharing their concerns over very sick or aging animals. So I have found a nice non-denominational prayer that can be used by any person of any faith when they have to make that hard decision to release their furbaby from pain and illness. I found it on Ask.com
"I have loved you since the day you came into my life,
and now it is time to let you go.
I could not watch you suffer.
I could not see you in pain.
Now you are free.
Your body is no longer sick or weak or hurting.
Now you can run with the others,
playing and hunting as wild things do.
Because I loved you, I had to let you go.
You will live forever in my heart."
It may come as little solace for those that must make this impossible decision, but if it helps to provide just a little bit of comfort, provide just a little bit of peace, then I am glad.
