I've been trying to rehome Goldy and two of her kittens for a while, with no success. A few days ago I put ads in the classified section of petfinders.com. The first half dozen or so responses were all scams, but I finally got a real email yesterday evening.
The email was from a young couple who are students at NAU in Flagstaff. They gave me a phone number so I was able to talk to the girl for quite a while. I like the answers she gave to my questions: Lion will be kept as an indoor cat, no declawing.
When we were talking about what Lion is eating now, she wanted to know if it would be all right to feed him wet food only.
They will be visiting the guy's parents in Phoenix--about 30-40 miles from me--over Superbowl weekend and wanted to know if they could come to my house to meet Lion. If they click, they'll be taking him home with them that day.
It's going to be really hard to let him go
but I'm glad I finally found somebody who sounds like a wonderful new meowmy for him.
