Thai has always been runny since I got him from the Humane Society. He is four months old. I just thought it was the way he was. He supposedly been wormed there. But last week I tok him to the vet because he had left some nasty, slimey discharge on my chair. The vet checked his anal glands and they were empty, so she thought he had discharged him on the chair. But two days ago he had an accident on the kitchen floor. He didn't squat, it just came out. He seemed so embarrased, trying to cover it up and looking at me like "what just happened here?" So I took a stool sample to the vet yesterday, thankfully didin't have to take Thai....he hates riding in the car and uses his "big boy" Siamese scream to get this across to me.
Turns out he has roundworms and Coccidia. So I have meds to take care of both.
My question is....has any one here had to deal with Coccidia. I may be spelling it wrong. I just wondered if there was something that I had to look out for during the treatment, as I forgot to ask the vet. I was just so relieved that there was some meds to make him better hopefully. Plus I feel like a bad meowmy since I didn't have them check for these things sooner. I was under the false security that The HS had taken care of things before I got him. Not that I blame them, I just took their word that he was parasite free.
