Since I overheard that conversation as they were checking their records, I was able to stop them and say no no no, he was here for a followup a few months ago... so they checked with the head nurse and she confirmed it, and I'm taking Papa in at 2:45 today.
Please please please heaven let there be a solution for him -- at least a time-extending treatment, if not a cure. I thank you all so much for your good thoughts and prayers.
The very best of vibes from Plano. I am a 14 year survivor of prostate cancer and 10 year surivor of bladder cancer that had spread from the prostate. Never give up. There are many of us walking around that were pronounced beyond hope many years ago. Many of us, and I am praying for your Dad to join our ranks.Originally Posted by CarolPetunia
According to an X-ray and a CAT scan, my father apparently has cancer in his liver. It's eight centimeters in diameter, which is huge. It's probably a metastasis of the colon cancer he had three or four years ago.
I'm getting him in to see his oncologist first thing next week... but he's 86 and very weak now, and I don't know what to expect. I just know I'm not ready for him to go away. If you have any pull with the Powers That Be, please... put in a good word for my father.
