My kitty who is a male bi color is 7 mos old. We got him and his sister when they were both 8 weeks old. I have an older male as well. I have 3 litter boxes. My little Henry is peeing in the litter boxes, outside the litter boxes, bathtubs, bath room and kitchen floors. This is a new behavior. When I catch him I tell him no and place him in the litter box. Any idea what is going on?

Step one is to get him to the vet to have him evaluated for a UTI. Often cats who suddenly develop box problems are suffering from one.

If a UTI is ruled out, it is a behavioral issue and there are many approaches to take.

One point: be sure to clean up with an enzymatic cleaner that breaks down the urine. Otherwise Henry with his sensitive cat nose might be attracted back to that spot.

Yes Mani he did and the situation resolved itself. He is fixed. I switched litter about a month ago and I'm wondering if that is part of it. I'm calling the vet in the AM. How do they check for a UTI in a cat?
