The Hills canned CD comes in two flavors - fish and chicken. My boy has gastro issues with the fish, but is ok with the chicken; go figure. There is one kibble flavor, as far as I know.
As Otto says, there are a few other lines of urinary food - your vet can get them for you.
Did you say you mixed half and half right away? I wonder if a slower mix might work - I did a quarter for three days, half for three days, three/quarter and then full. My vet said that was ok, but you'd have to check with yours.
FWIW, my home improvement this year includes getting an undersink filter system for water....I'm thinking it's going to be good for me, but you know I really got it for my boy.
I have a Drinkwell 360 - even with unfiltered, Lake Michigan water, I only have to clean it weekly and the whole shebang takes maybe 5-10 minutes.
