Please Help! Picked Up Cat From Friends And Noticed Issue With Her Eye

Hi all,
I was on holiday for a week and left my two cats with a friend to look after while I was gone. When I arrived home, I noticed a strange film with a bump on her eye! I’m very afraid and because of public holidays- we will not be able to take her to the vet until tomorrow.

Could anyone please help and suggest what the issue could be? Thank you.

Since you’ll be seeing a vet soon I’d stick with just basic care. I’d do a warm compress (as your cat allows) and wiping the eye area with a warm damp cloth. Nothing aggressive by any means. Just gently remove any gunk around the eye and be careful not to actually touch you cats eye.

I agree. She may have gotten poked in the eye or it could be the start of a kitty cold. The vet will know. If they recommend staining it and looking for an ulcer I would do it to be sure and to better treat whatever it is.
