I worked with I great Podiatrist this summer that did a procedure using ultrasound that actually broke up the thickened band and patients usually had it done on a Friday and where back to work on Monday. No surgery, the only thing you have to deal with is the needle to numb your foot while they are working on it. What it actually does is causes the foot to heal itself so total results can some times take up to six months but usually people find relief right away.
