Pimobendan Side Effects

My kitten has been on pimobendan for two months now. Ever since we started treatment, he has been smacking his lips a lot. My cardiologist says that they don’t believe it’s the meds but it started once we put him on the meds. Does anyone have any experience with pimobendan and did they notice any side effects in their pet?

I would love to be able to see how he is smacking his lips. That isn't a typical side effect of Pimo that I am aware of. I know of cough and labored breathing as possible side effects and maybe a weird sound is coming out from one of those?

I will try to get a video of it. He’s on plavix as well but his lip smacking began before he started taking that. I’ve read it could be nausea or dry mouth. I apply this enzyme gel to his gums twice daily to help with dry mouth. I just really hope he’s not nauseous.

You could try Cerenia for nausea and see if it stops the smacking.
