My cat doesn't understand (or chooses not to understand) the following:

"No"
"It's the weekend--I don't have to get up yet"
"I can't come back to bed--it's Monday"
"Don't bring that mouse in here"
"Really, you can keep the mouse"

George chooses not to hear:

"Get off my keyboard!"
"Stop swatting my face with your tail!" (followed by a tail full of fur going in my mouth!)
"Don't go in the closet/get out of the closet!"
"I'll be out in a minute" (when I am in the bathroom with the door shut, and he sits there and MEOWS until I re-appear)
"You already have food in your bowl, I'm not giving you more!"

So I realized that maybe he just doesn't understand what I'm saying. Now they all understand, Who's hungry. So what phrases don't your cats understand?
I tell mine they can't use the computer...but they always try anyway!!

For Faith only: Doesn't know the meaning of the phrase "Let me breathe" She always tries to sleep on my face!

Mine don't know what the phrase 'no' means...hahaha...

"Kojak! You better take your claws out of the dogs face mister!" - he rough houses with our Aussie, Fosters all the time (both playing) but on occassion Kojak will get his claws stuck in Fosters muzzle and Fosters will try and shake the cat off of him
(it's hilarious! (nobody gets hurt))

"Jasmine- you don't ned anymore food" - she however always tries to convience me that she does

"Isabella, Colin is not going to kill you" (she doesn't like anyone but me....if Colin or my sister kimmy or my friend renae tries to pet her she fluffs up like a bat out of hell and runs off hiding from them
She's convienced they're going to kill her

"Kojak- honey, you are NOT a dog" - he steals the dog toys, steals dog food, plays with the dogs, sleeps with the dogs....you name it

"Velvet- get off mommy's counters, you're not allowed up there!"

"I don't want to sniff your butt."
"Leave your brother alone!"
"Mama needs to get up now."
"Get out of there!"
"Don't eat that!" (usually Rocky)
"Watch the claws!"
"Be quiet!" (usually said at or after midnight)
"Don't sit on Mama's head/arm/feet."

Oliver doesn't understand "Quit eating Mama's hair." He only does it when my hair is damp, so he must like the smell of my shampoo or conditioner.

The most ignored phrase has to be "Move away from the orchids" (even though said in a very menacing tone -my poor plants are being destroyed) though a close contender is "GET OFF!" which as it happens is being ignored right now as my hubby is trying to prepare fish for our dinner

Moving them physically away from the orchids/table/worktop just seems to turn it into the 'how quick can they get back to the orchids/table/worktop' game

Did you just take my spot??? (I was just gone a minute!!)
You donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t even like this! (Whatever I am eating)
Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s just thunder (THIS is too much to be understood when it IS thundering)
Donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t sniff his butt now! (When friendly play with brother is just about to turn sour)

Sounds like the kind of thing I say to my two!

Kitty doesn`t understand, 'Be quiet!' or 'Move please Kitty'. That`s always when I`m cooking and have a pan of something hot that I`m trying to get to the sink before I drop

I swear Maisie understands nothing
Quite often if she`s sat at the window with her back to the door, I`ll go in and call her and she looks everywhere but in my direction

These are great!

I see the "you've had enough food" phrase is big.

Specifically, with Lena and Larry, it's "Stop staring at me. You just ate!"

I learned this weekend that Jordan doesn't understand,

"You need to eat something or you'll have to go to the vet."

Well maybe now he will understand it the next time I say it.
