pet backwards???

My cats are seeming to enjoy being pet "against the grain" so to speak. Is that even normal? I've never in my life seen another cat enjoy being pet backwards. 0.o

Mine don't mind it either... I'll brush them both ways and they like it. 

I'm not advocating it as I imagine many cats would hate it... but obviously not all of them.

My boy doesn't mind it, provided he's in the mood for some loving in the first place! I ruffle his fur quite a bit and he just enjoys the attention. He likes belly rubs too!

Our cats don't mind it, but they seem pretty indifferent about it. Doesn't matter; getting pets.

I mind it more than my cat minds it. 

 He is a medium hair cat, so petting backwards really messes up his coat, and it bugs me more than it does him. lol.
