i've been following the Persil story, and am thrilled to hear things sound good! that is wonderful news. persil looks to be a doll from her photo...i know what it is like to worry about a sick/hurt kitty...doing that myself, and it's always fantastic to get positive news. continued good vibes for both you and kitty!!
I have been to see her and I took a pillow case and a pyjama top that were well impregnated with my and Ellie's scent. She is wriggling around in her cage, but it made me cry to see she had an incision from her neck to between her hind legs. The surgeon told me it was very tricky surgery, as all her internal organs were up in her thorax, and he had trouble keeping her lungs inflated while he sorted it out. He is not sure if it was genetic or traumatic. But he is optimistic that she will be fine. I didn't ask if he had spayed her while he was at it - it was the last thing on my mind yesterday or today, I just wanted them to save her life, but it will be awful if she has to have another op for that in a few weeks time. I can see her again tomorrow and maybe they will let her home then or the next day.
I just can't believe that yesterday I was left in a room to say goodbye to her and today she has an expectancy of normal life. Christmas was so awful and the new year is going to be great.
Thank you all again - I can't tell you how much it has meant to have you all rooting for her and listening to me.
I'm happy that she's alright now, the little love.. *sigh* Now you, You get some rest instead of worrying yourself to pieces. soon enough you'll have a healthy kitten tearing up the house.
Jenny I'm so happy for you and Persil. She's such a brave girl to go through such major surgery. I'm glad that she'll be back home with you soon. Then you'll be able to give her plenty of cuddles.
YAY PERSIL!!!! I was almost afraid to check this thread this morning. I'm thrilled to see such good news! Happy Belated Christmas to you and your babies!
Whew! I'm so happy for you both! I've been thinking of Persil all day, hoping she was going to be okay, but afraid to come and look this afternoon. That's really wonderful news! Happy New Year!!!!!
Oh, thank goodness. I didn't put all of what my book says in there. Some was a little scarier. But since she got through the operation OK she should be just fine. I hope they spayed her but they may not have been thinking of that end of things at all. She will be convinced that the vet is a really bad place if she has to go back for another op. Poor baby. But she will do just fine with a spay op in the future once she has recovered from this. Becky
I knew Persil wasn't doing well, but I just now saw this thread. It sounds like you had a Christmas miracle!
I'm so glad Persil has survived surgery, and I hope she continues to make good progress. Snowball and I are sending lots of healing vibes in her direction.
Oh, Jenny. I'm sorry I missed this thread until just now.
What a relief, and how thankful I am to know you and Persil will be all right in the end. Many many prayers and thoughts and loves and hugs being sent your way.
