We are moving from our flat into a 3 story townhome with two flights of stairs that have turns. How can I expect my cats behavior to be to this huge change in their life? Here is the layout: The garage, storage areas and my office is on the first floor. The living areas, kitchen and dining room are on the second floor and the bedrooms are on the third floor (our cats always sleep with us). Presently, the cats use one litter box with no problems at all. They have never missed. What I was hoping to do was to put their litter box on the first floor and put the cats on the first floor so they would know where it is. My plan was to just leave them on the first floor until they decided to go up the stairs on their own. Or maybe I should show them around. I am really at a loss on what to do. If at all possible I would like to train them to go down to the first floor to use their litter box but I know many of you will tell me to have one on every floor. I know there are many other things I am not thinking of concerned with this totally different arangment and how the cats will handle it. Your input would be greatly appreciated.
