A feral female cat started peeing at the end of my garden [normally considers my garden just as a hangout area], after i erected a wire fence in that area thursday gone, to prevent foxes getting in, prior to thursday the cat hadn't ventured that area for 8 months, is this a sign of disapproval to me erecting the fence or a sign of trying to exert dominance.

It could be that it has a strange smell and he is marking his territory.

I doubt marking territory because she did not smell the area before elminating, neither as she approach the area, all she done about 3 metres away is look around to see if anyone was lookiing then proceeded to the area to pee. and scurried back to the porch.
