Has anyone ever used oxytocin on a nursing mother who's gone back into heat early to create/enhance the mother/kitten bond that becomes frayed from the heat cycle?
Its an interesting idea to try with some oxytocin. I have never heard of it, unless really desperate perhaps. Still, it would be nice to get know if anyone has tried. some people DO have access to friendly and cat knowing vets. So even if its beyond the scope for the average cat owner, it may be worth much in some cases.Their almost four weeks old. She's still nursing them but is getting distracted easly so the feedings are pretty short. I'm weighing daily and supplementing the less aggressive two with tube feeding. There starting to nibble on wet food so it's not the worst thing in the world that could happen by any means. It just brought to mind an article i read quite awhile ago about using a low dose of oxcytocin to stimulate a maternal drive but I can't find it anywhere.
