Ditto to all the cat lovers onboard who feel your pain.  We are a

close family group who love our kitties and sometimes things

just happen that we sometimes don't have control over especially

these amazing kitties that we love unconditionally love us unconditionally.

When we lose them, they are family and we grieve.  A little story that

I will remember for the rest of my life.  Was visiting my GOD parents

and things weren't going to well for their pet parakeet who was sick.

To make a long sad story short, the parakeet passed while I was

there with my parents.  My GOD parents openly grieved and cried.

GOD Father placed the parakeet in a jar and buried the parakeet.

They were able to move forward and get another parakeet.  As pet

owners we bond and get attached to our buddies and when we

lose them or have to put them to sleep is a difficult choice that us

humans sometimes don't have when we get sick, there is no cure

and we suffer until the very end.  In closing, you had your loving kittie

for seven years and hope they were seven good years with good

memories, pics.  Try not to dwell on this to long.  The stress is not good.

Hope you're able to move forward and always remember your kitty.

Over the summer, my Dad's cat Shadow got sick last summer. My Dad is 82 so it was horrendously awful. He spent thousands of dollars to find out there was nothing they could diagnose but he had stopped eating and could barely get into his litter box. With the best resources available and a ton of money spent, we still had to put Shadow to sleep. I stayed with him while my Dad chose a new friend to bring home from the adoption center(my Dad could not bear to go home alone. As he is an elderly widower, it's understandable). I will never forget that day. Shadow was a part of my family and I really loved him. But forcefeeding him baby food and pain killers was not the answer.
Now my Dad has a lunatic of a kitty who keeps him on his toes. Mr. Kisses is a perfect friend for my Dad! No cat can ever take the place of Shadow but Mr
Kisses is helping my Dad move on.
I hope this helps.
