My hubby and I were pulling up to our driveway 3 weeks ago and hit Our beloved 18 year old cat. We were devastated still heartbroken. His name was Oglum. He was at the vets for 3 weeks and yesterday we were called to the vets and she told us he is still unable to pee and poop on his own and that the extensive nerve damage to his spine is taking its toll. We didn't want to put him through any more pain and suffering so after 18 years of loving our beautiful boy, we had to say goodbye. The vet told us that his quality of life would be miserable and the long term outlook didn't look good. I'm conflicted coz I keep thinking maybe we could've taken him to a specialist for surgery etc but Vet had told us his nerve damage was too severe. Poor boy we are grieving so badly. He was getting old and deaf etc and he just ran in front of the car. I'm shattered with grief. Just wanted to share this. He looked like he was in pain. He wasn't eating. The vet said his anal canal and bowels were just not working. Has anyone had a similar experience with bad nerve damage in cats. RIP Oglum old boy. He will live forever in our hearts [emoji]128148[/emoji][emoji]128148[/emoji][emoji]10084[/emoji]️
