Taking care of kittens is a huge responsibility with many different facets, and many TCS users could write novels with everything you need to know. Because of that, a broad question like yours about taking care of kittens is very difficult to answer. Are there maybe some more specific areas you would like help with, or specific questions that you have? Some examples would be if you are curious about the stages of their development, switching to solids, litterbox training, socializing, ect. If you could help narrow it down than we can all help you much more efficiently!
A few things though:
It sounds like the kittens aren't here yet so the first area to focus on is the birth and birthing process. Hopefully by now you have a nesting box set up in a quiet room separate from the rest of the house and are spending nights in there so that you don't miss the birth. Here are some links to articles that will help you with these preparations:
I would also highly advise that you take some time to look through past threads and see the advice that others have gotten as it may help to answer questions you didn't even know you had. If there is a topic you are especially interested in use the search box at the top of the page (right under the red bar) to find relevant threads. I'm sure a lot of your general questions have already been asked and answered and it's easier to just search and read than to post and wait for a response. That said, we absolutely want to help you with any specific questions that you have so please, don't hesitate to ask them here in this thread!
Finally, remember that your pregnant girl can go back into heat anytime after giving birth so make sure you take extra precautions to keep her indoors and away from any intact males until after she and the kittens have been altered!
Please, look through some of these threads and articles and let us know your more specific questions so we can help you better.
Vibes for a safe and healthy delivery, and welcome to TCS!
So our cat, Ash, is around the time for having kittens. We believe she just lost her mucus plug and we are waiting on anything else new. What do cat contractions look like and what should I expect when she is having them?
