I just went to pick up 2 prescription refills for my children.
I forgot that my ex-husband handed me new insurance cards a few weeks ago. He didn't explain the new plan or give me any literature. I didn't think to ask any questions. . . . believing that the cards were just to replace the old ones. I knew his insurance was to be changing at some point (new ownership of his business), but was told it would be a better plan.
I had no idea that the plan changed so drastically. I used to pay $25 co-pay for each prescription.
When the cashier said, that will be $199.00 I almost fell on the floor.
The new insurance has a $100 deductible per person.
Fortunately for me, my ex pays 1/2 of medical/dental. . . . . so he will be paying me back $100. . . . . it's still a lot to dish out all at once. . . .
Hopefully once the deductible is met for each child, the next time around won't be so bad.
I don't know how normal (average) people make ends meet in today's world. . . . . everything is so damn expensive!
