My former feral is bot cooperating. I cannot get him seen by a vet. He is shaking his head and scratching one of his ears. Is there anything I can buy to put in that ear?

A vet visit would be best, to see if its something like mites, or an ear infection?
If its mites then some tick and flee drops to the back of the neck, like advantage will most likely help. If its an ear infection it will not, he needs antibiotics.
A vet visit would be best so they can treat for the correct problem.

Would I be able to check his ears, myself? At least I’d know if it it’s one or the other. I had a vet at the house but we CANNOT get him into a confined area. I tried everything I could and was not the first attempt.

Ear mites look like dark coffee grounds down in the ear canal. Have you tried Frontline on the back of the neck, between the shoulder blades? It works for my cats.

I don’t see anything like that. I also swabbed his ear and didn’t see any black spots.
